WELCOME TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE DIVISION OF THE TAX COMMISSIONER'S OFFICE.
January Pre-Bills Update
Dear Columbia County Residents,
Taxpayers who have vehicles registered in Columbia County with renewal dates in January, once again the Georgia Department of Revenue has failed to print and mail pre-bills in a timely manner. Regretfully, this will result in many taxpayers receiving their bills for January late. Unfortunately, representatives from the Georgia Department of Revenue have assured the Columbia County Tax Commissioner's Office that a change in printing vendors would not result in a delay in the January bills. It would appear this is not the case. We are now being reassured by the Georgia Department of Revenue the January pre-bills are being printed and should be mailed the first week of January.
Although we in Columbia County have no control over whom the State selects as a vendor to print and mail motor vehicle registration bills, nonetheless, we apologize for any inconvenience the Georgia Department of Revenue has caused our taxpayers.
Renewal of your vehicle registration may be completed without receiving a pre-bill. You may come into the Evans or Grovetown Office and provide identification (driver's license) or you may renew over the web or telephone.
Web and telephone renewals require a Registration Identification Number (RIN). You may click on the "Renew over the Web or Telephone" web page and click on the highlighted link to attain your RIN number.
If you have any questions or need assistance you may call the Motor Vehicle Division Office at (706) 868-6884 during regular business hours.
